So far, Cyberfolk has explored lots of great folk music related
web sites - sites with concert listings, venues, song lyrics,
guitar tablature, information about all kinds of folk instruments -
but something has been missing. Music. The kind that you can actually
listen to while you’re on line. Hearing is believing...
Most of the sites mentioned in this article use the RealAudio Player.
It’s a piece of software that you’ll need in order hear these sites.
You can download it for free at
http://www.real.com/products/player/index.html
Want to hear a live recorded concert? Check out Liveconcerts.com.
Here you’ll find a nice selection of folk, jazz, blues, and rock
concerts. Everything from James Taylor, Lorena McKennett and Joni Mitchel
to Jim Belushi’s blues band.

Do you still miss the Wednesday afternoon re-broadcasts of WFMT's
"Midnight Special"? Now there’s something even better. You can listen
to it any time - not only the current show, but past shows as well.
Hear it at

(Note that this URL is slightly different that the one in the printed edition
of Common Times - The Midnight Special's home page has changed recently, too,
it's now www.midnightspecial.org).
Another folk radio program available on the net anytime is KCRW's
"Morning Becomes Eclectic". It is a live performance/interview
show that draws from a variety of generes, including folk. Have a
listen to this engaging program at

The popular Public Radio program "A Prarie Home Companion" is
also on the web - including the entire "joke show". The rest of
the shows are available in segments - you can pick from the rundowns
of each show. Most of the music segments are included.
