The Kennedy Center Millenium Stage
http://www.kennedy-center.org/programs/millennium/
The Kennedy Center in Washington DC has been presenting a free performance
every day at the Millennium stage as part of the Performing Arts for
Everyone Initiative. An amazing variety of genres and styles are presented,
from folk to rock to classical to choral performances. The performances
are broadcast live over the internet, both audio and video, every day at
6:00 eastern time. But
don't worry if you've missed them - they are all archived and available
for listening at any time. You can search the archive by artist, genre, or
browse the performances by date. Be sure to check out the
archived shows of these familiar folkies: Lou and Peter Berryman (Sept 30, 1999)
Voives of Winter - Hills, Herdman and Mangsen (Dec 30, 1999),
Garnet Rogers (Aug 17, 1999). And don't miss Chicago's Michael Miles
doing a segment from his one man show "The Magic Banjo" (Oct 28, 2000).
The National Story Project

Perhaps you've heard some of these stories on Weekend All Things Considered
over the past year. Author Paul Auster asked listeners to send him their own
humorous, real-life stories. He has collected these short, non-fiction tales
and reads them on the air the first Saturday of the month. These little stories
are very touching and powerful. At this site you can both read the text and
listen to the audio.
